Biolo joins Lumi Marketplace to offer home compostable bags and packaging made from PHA

Los Angeles, California — Lumi, the leading US marketplace for packaging and print products, today announced that BIOLO has partnered with Lumi to make its manufacturing capabilities available on Lumi Marketplace.

Founded in early 2020, BIOLO extrudes, converts, and manufactures bags made with Danimer Scientific's polyhydroxyalkanoate PHA based resin, Nodax®. Biolo's flexible packaging is compostable in a home or industrial environment. It is resistant to water, UV rays, and heat so shelf stability is not an issue — it will hold up well from storage in a distribution center, all the way to its final destination.

BIOLO is one of the only PHA flexible packaging suppliers in the US, and the first PHA supplier on Lumi. BIOLO's capabilities are an exciting addition to the Lumi network, especially for companies that need the water resistance and performance of plastic, but want to make their packaging more sustainable.

On Lumi, BIOLO offers a variety of bags including Compostable Poly Mailers and Compostable Clear Peel and Seal Bags made using Nodax®, and certified by TUV OK Compost for home composting.

Michael Delano, Product Manager for BIOLO said, "BIOLO’s partnership with Lumi has been one of the key decisions we have made as a fast-growing brand. Lumi’s platform and packaging expertise has helped significantly increase the awareness around PHA in the marketplace and has allowed us to strategically position and differentiate our brand as one of the only manufacturers of PHA packaging in the USA. We have been able to connect with many great companies who have spent years looking for a true sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based packaging that still offers the same performance and quality."
